Seven identical squares can be read as adding the area $5.29{\text{cm}}^2$ to itself seven times, and in addition the result is limited by the least number of decimal places, not by the count of significant figures. Since $5.29$ is given to two decimal places, the total $7\times 5.29=37.03$ is reported to two decimal places as $37.03{\text{cm}}^2$.
