Using the waveforms of the inputs A and B, draw the output waveform of the given logic circuit. Identify the logic gate obtained. Write also its truth table.

Answer: NAND gate, (output 0 only when both inputs are 1).

Solution

The circuit combines the two NAND gates and the inverter so that the overall output is the NAND combination of the inputs, i.e. .
The output waveform is HIGH (1) whenever at least one input is LOW, and LOW (0) only when both inputs are HIGH.
The gate obtained is a NAND gate.
