The normality of in the solution obtained on mixing 100 mL of with 50 mL of 0.1 M NaOH is . (Nearest Integer)

Answer: 1

Solution

Calculate equivalents:
  • Equivalents of H₂SO₄ = 100 × 0.1 × 2 = 20 milliequivalents (n-factor = 2)
  • Equivalents of NaOH = 50 × 0.1 × 1 = 5 milliequivalents

After neutralization:
  • Remaining equivalents of H₂SO₄ = 20 - 5 = 15 milliequivalents
  • Total volume = 100 + 50 = 150 mL

Normality = = 0.1 N = 1 × 10⁻¹ N

Therefore, x = 1
