Peptization is a :
  1. (A)process of converting soluble particles to form colloidal solution
  2. (B)process of converting precipitate into colloidal solution✓ Correct
  3. (C)process of converting a colloidal solution into precipitate
  4. (D)process of bringing colloidal molecule into solution

Answer: (B)

Solution

Peptization is the reverse of coagulation. A freshly made precipitate is dispersed back into a colloidal sol by adding a small amount of a suitable electrolyte, the peptizing agent, whose ions are adsorbed on the particles and charge them so they repel one another instead of clumping. For example, fresh can be peptized by a little . So peptization is the process of converting a precipitate into a colloidal solution.
