The logic gate equivalent to the given logic circuit is:
(A)OR✓ Correct
(B)AND
(C)NOR
(D)NAND
Answer: (A)
Solution
Tracing the two inputs through the network and building its truth table, the output is 0 only when both inputs are 0 and is 1 whenever at least one input is 1. That behaviour, low only when both inputs are low and high otherwise, is exactly what an OR gate does, so the whole combination is equivalent to a single OR gate.
